The Holy Spirit is the Third Person in the Holy Trinity. How there can be Three Persons in One God remains a mystery. When I was young, and going to Catholic school, one of the nuns who taught religion explained that this is something we’ll understand after we die.
While on earth, we’ll live with the fact that it’s something beyond our human understanding.
As a Catholic, I realize our Church was founded 2,000 years ago, when the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles at Pentecost. This strengthened them, and allowed them to speak their native tongue, but still be understood by others who spoke different languages.
Pentecost is regarded as the beginning of the Catholic Church, which has had an unbroken line of bishops dating back to the Apostles. (Saint Peter the Apostle was our first Pope, and the current Pope Francis is Pontiff number 266.
Holy Spirit Stained Glass Sun Catcher
The Design Toscano Holy Spirit stained glass window panel shown here would look great in a church. It would also be appropriate for a home chapel or in your kitchen or living room, to remind you of Pentecost and the Third Person in the Holy Trinity. It would also make a great gift for someone entering religious life, or for a priest or a religious sister celebrating an anniversary.
This is a relatively small piece, about 6.5-inches, so it doesn’t take up much space. It comes with a chain so it can hang on your window with a plastic suction cup. This sun catcher is designed after an original work created by famous stained glass artist Louis Comfort Tiffany. This is why stained glass art is often referred to as “Tiffany glass.”
This Holy Spirit window panel is sold by Design Toscano, an American-based company that carries a wide range of “historical and antique” replicas, according to its website. Its collection also features indoor and outdoor statues, as well as furniture, tapestries and gifts. The company was founded in 199o. It’s been named by Inc. Magazine as one of the fastest-growing privately held companies in the United States.
