Non Antibacterial Liquid Hand Soap

Many people like to use antibacterial soap. That’s because they worry about germs. However, most of these cleansers contain highly questionable chemicals, such as triclosan, which has come under intense scrutiny lately.

Although there’s not yet scientific proof that triclosan can hurt humans, we do know that it has the ability to disrupt hormones in animals. One study did find this chemical did cause cancer in mice when used long term. There’s also concern that triclosan could, potentially, lead to the spread of drug-resistant bacteria.

Non Antibacterial Liquid Hand Soap

This is why many consumers are choosing plant-based liquid soap, such as the foaming lemongrass soap shown below. This contains lemongrass essential oil, which contains natural and powerful infection-fighting compounds.

This soap is made from natural and plant-based ingredients. It also has no artificial preservatives, detergents, petroleum or sodium lauryl sulfate.

Essential Oil Combinations Soap

Essential oils make great substitutes for some of the potentially toxic ingredients found in some regular soaps. Unfortunately, many of the cleansing agents and detergents we buy at the supermarket, or our local pharmacy, contain controversial chemicals known to disrupt the hormones and potentially increase our risk of cancer.

In addition to providing a lovely natural scent, essential oils are also used as natural antibacterial agents.

These beautiful collections of scented soaps shown below are made by Plantlife. The collection on the left represents the company’s top-selling herbal aromatic soaps, made from all natural ingredients. The Aromatherapy Herbal Soap Sampler on the right comes in a box, so it would make a great gift for someone who’s concerned about their health, as well as the environment.
