Perhaps you’ve seen those cute little angels of hope and healing at your local gift shop. They are heartwarming and full of meaning. Despite the fact they have no facial features, they very effectively convey a message through their body language.
These beautiful figurines are created by a Kansas City artist named Susan Lordi, although her name is often in the background. They are more commonly known as Willow Tree, which is the title of her line of artwork. The Willow Tree collection is also available online.

They are probably the most famous of Lordi’s work. Although you probably can’t tell from this picture, their garments are decorated with a primitive-style carved rose pattern.
