Perhaps you’ve seen those cute little angels of hope and healing at your local gift shop. They are heartwarming and full of meaning. Despite the fact they have no facial features, they very effectively convey a message through their body language.
These beautiful figurines are created by a Kansas City artist named Susan Lordi, although her name is often in the background. They are more commonly known as Willow Tree, which is the title of her line of artwork. The Willow Tree collection is also available online.
Susan Lordi Figurines
These creations are undoubtedly meant to uplift and inspire. The angels, especially, can be given as gifts, designed to show someone you care, or to offer comfort or support. They are probably the most famous of Lordi’s work. The Willow Tree collection also includes an extensive selection of family groupings, such as what appears to be a mother and daughter in the Close to Me piece shown below. Lordi’s Nativity sets are also becoming sought-after collector’s items.
Willow Tree Figurines Mother Daughter
This figurine stands 8-inches tall and shows a mother and daughter in a warm embrace. Although you probably can’t tell from this picture, their garments are decorated with a primitive-style carved rose pattern. This would make a perfect gift for a mother to give to her daughter, or a daughter to give to her Mom.
Willow Tree Sisters Figurine
The special bond between sisters is lovingly captured in this piece, which you can see below. It is called, My Sister My Friend and stands 8.5-inches in height. It comes with a gift box and a gift card.
Willow Tree Three Women Figurine
Some of Lordi’s newer pieces from her Signature Collection, celebrating her 15 years in business, have a splash of vibrant color added, such as the figure of the three women you can see below. This would make a perfect gift for a friend who has suffered a loss, or is fighting a serious illness. Or, a group of daughters may want to give it to their mother.
Willow Tree Girl With Flowers
Love, family and friendship seem to be the theme running through all of Lordi’s work. This child-like figure below is holding a beautiful bouquet of flowers. This would make a nice gift for someone who is sick. The name of this piece of art is Good Cheer.
